Wake Me Up When September Ends

The biggest month in fashion produced some of the best and one of the worst covers in fashion history. Some grabbed me for the right reasons...others for the wrong.

Vogue Italia

Vogue Italia features Viktoriya Sasonkina on the cover. I originally thought the cover was boring. However the content is great! Alana Zimmer and Siri Tollerod both have two editorials. It's so vintage inspired. It looks like an issue from the 50's. And the best editorial "Stardust" that features cover star Viktoriya in a Jean Harlow/Bette Davis inspired photoshoot.

Vogue Paris

Anna Selezneva seems to be the rising star in industry right now scoring two major covers in the early stages of her career. I personally prefer her Paris Vogue cover. Her eyes look beautiful and it is a very original cover.

Vogue Russia
I can't say the same about her Vogue Russia cover sadly. She looks cross-eyed and the cover doesn't grab my attention.

Vogue Nippon

Natasha Poly is my new favorite model. She has otherworldy beauty and her cheekbones are to die for. She snagged the September cover of Vogue Nippon. I love the way it looks but Vogue Nippon seems to ruin many of their covers with the font. I only wish that they could have put the title behind Natasha.

Vogue Australia

Vogue Australia didn't do a reprint! I guess we should be happy about that but none the less it is a lovely cover. Abbey Lee looks really good. (Although Demelza should have scored this cover!)

Vogue Espana
Gisele is on the cover of Vogue Espana. Again not a reprint! Gisele is looking good on the cover.

Vogue Deustsch
Leave it to German Vogue to make a mess out of the Rhodabrows. She looks a little...manly. She can rock the thick brows but these are a little too thick. I love the colors and the energy in the picture though.
US Vogue

I didn't think US Vogue's September issue would get worse after Sienna Miller last year. Sadly I was quite wrong. This has got to be one of the worst covers in the history of Vogue! Her hair is a matted down mess and the outfit just isn't working! The editorial was alright but I don't understand why Anna would put Keira on the cover. Her last cover June 2007 was one of the lowest selling issues of the year.

I'm just disappointed in US Vogue. If it isn't Caroline Trentini jumping in every editoria it's a celebrity that gets on my nerves on the cover. September is the most important month of the year in the fashion industry so the cover should reflect it.

Stunning...

Is the only word that comes to mind when I look at Demelza's Australian Vogue spread. Her face is a dream in those pictures. I'm in awe.
It is so stunning. Her face is amazing. It's sad that Kirstie Clements seems to hate her. I hope this isn't the pinnacle of her career. She has such an amazing face. It would be a shame to waste it.
